Love Island winner Davide Sanclimenti was reportedly seen dishing out laughing gas balloons at an after-party in Manchester over the Easter weekend.

The 29-year-old, who won the ITV show with ex Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu in 2022, appeared to be using an air canister to fill up balloons at the gathering in a video captured by The Sun.

A party-goer at the bash after the Solaris of the Sun event at Firefly club told the publication it contained nitrous oxide, which has recently been reclassified as a Class C drug by the UK government.

There was ‘no suggestion’ Davide consumed the gas himself at the party during the early hours of Saturday morning, the outlet added.

Davide’s spokesperson declined to comment when approached by The Sun. Metro.co.uk has also reached out to his representatives.

In November, laughing gas, also called ballons Nos, whippets, and medically known as nitrous oxide, was made illegal in the UK.

Now dealers can face up to 14 years in jail for handing out the gas, while having nitrous oxide with the intention to inhale it wrongfully is also an offence.

Unlimited fines, visible community service, a caution that would appear on their criminal record, and jail time are among the punishments for the latter.

Nitrous oxide is responsible for few overdose or misuse drug deaths each year compared to others – between 2001 and 2020 there were 56 deaths involving the gas in England and Wales.

It is the third most used drug among 16 to 24-year-olds in England, though its usage has been declining. According to the Global Drug Survey, it was the 14th most popular drug in the world in 2021.

Earlier this year, Davide split from Ekin-Su for a second time after 18 months together. They both confirmed the break-up in separate Instagram statements.

In his, Davide said he wanted to ‘focus on myself’ now.

‘Life sometimes reserves surprises and suddenly wakes you up…’, he began cryptically.

Davide continued with a reference to his ex-girlfriend’s stint in The Traitors US: ‘Ekin and I, just after the ski holidays, decided to go different ways. It was a joint decision, but I was waiting to make it public to respect her time in the show.

‘I don’t know why she agreed the statement changed last minute.

‘I agree, it was a beautiful story even with its ups and downs like all couples. I loved every moment, from the first time I knew her in the Villa until the life outside.’

Davide added that he ‘really believed’ in their relationship and ‘saw a future for us’ but, sometimes, ‘people need to grow apart.’

He proceeded to assure he would ‘treasure our moments forever’ and signed off by thanking his fans for their love and support.

Since Love Island, Davide has appeared in an ITV series with ex Ekin-Su – Ekin-Su and Davide: Homecomings – where they introduced their home towns in Turkey and Italy to each other.

Metro.co.uk has contacted Davide’s reps for comment.
